For colleges and universities
Semesters, SGPA and backlogs — not a school calendar with new labels
A university semester rule set ships configured, with SGPA and CGPA as a result format and backlogs tracked across attempts rather than as a failed row.
What is specific to a college or university
University semester rule set
A shipped preset with the semester result format and pass rule, rather than a school configuration bent into shape.
SGPA and CGPA
A distinct result format — semester grade point average alongside the cumulative figure, not a percentage renamed.
Backlog tracking
A backlog is pending, cleared or exhausted. A failed paper carried into a re-attempt is a state, not a stale row.
Flexible term structures
Semester, trimester, quarter, term or annual — because not every programme on a campus runs the same calendar.
University as an organisation type
College and university are their own organisation types, with departments modelled through classes and subjects.
Migration and provisional certificates
The document types a college actually issues, with the same QR verification as every other certificate.
Backlogs are the feature that separates the two models
A school result is final. A university result is not: a student who fails a paper carries it as a backlog, re-attempts it, and eventually clears it or runs out of attempts. Software that models a result as a single row per student per exam cannot express that, so colleges using school software end up maintaining the backlog register separately — which is the register that decides whether a student graduates.
AcadiFlow tracks a backlog as its own state: pending, cleared, or exhausted once the permitted attempts are used up. The re-attempt updates the backlog rather than overwriting the original result, so the transcript shows what actually happened.
Term structures are configurable for the same reason. A single campus commonly runs semester programmes alongside annual ones, and a system that assumes one calendar forces the other into a shape it does not fit. Semester, trimester, quarter, term and annual are all supported term types.
Common questions
Does AcadiFlow support SGPA and CGPA?
Yes. SGPA and CGPA are a distinct result format in the university semester rule set, computed as such rather than derived from a percentage and renamed.
How are backlogs handled?
As their own tracked state — pending, cleared, or exhausted when the permitted attempts run out. A re-attempt updates the backlog rather than overwriting the original result, so the transcript reflects what actually happened.
Can different programmes run different term structures?
Yes. Semester, trimester, quarter, term and annual are all supported, which matters on a campus running semester and annual programmes side by side.
Which certificates can a college issue?
The full set, including migration, provisional and course completion certificates — each carrying the same public QR verification as any other certificate.
