What is specific to an ICSE or ISC school

  • CISCE board and ICSE rule set

    The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations is a seeded board with its own Classes 9–10 preset.

  • No divisions

    ICSE does not use divisions, and the preset does not emit one — so nothing on the card has to be explained away.

  • Pass a minimum number of subjects

    A pass rule based on clearing at least N of M subjects is supported directly, not approximated with an aggregate.

  • Practicals as their own exam type

    Practical assessment is a distinct exam type, weighted and reported separately from the written paper.

  • Subject categories

    Group I, II and III style structures are modelled through subject types and categories rather than a flat subject list.

  • ISC alongside ICSE

    The same board with a separate rule set, so Classes 11–12 are not forced through the Class 10 configuration.

The subject-group problem

ICSE's structure is the thing generic software handles worst. The council's pass rule is not "score above X overall" — it depends on clearing a minimum number of subjects, drawn from groups that are not interchangeable. Software that only knows how to average a subject list cannot express that rule at all, so the office ends up applying it by hand.

AcadiFlow models it directly. Pass rules include a minimum-subjects form alongside the all-subjects, aggregate-only and combined forms, and subjects carry a type and a category so the groups are real rather than a naming convention.

The result is that the pass/fail decision comes out of the system rather than out of a discussion. That matters most in exactly the cases where it is most contested — the student one subject short.

Common questions

Does AcadiFlow support ICSE and ISC?

Yes. CISCE is a seeded board with an ICSE rule set for Classes 9–10, and rule sets can be defined separately for ISC so Classes 11–12 are not forced through the Class 10 configuration.

How is the ICSE pass rule handled?

Directly. Pass rules support clearing a minimum number of subjects, as well as passing every subject, clearing an aggregate, or both — so the council's rule is expressed rather than approximated.

Do ICSE report cards show a division?

No. ICSE does not use divisions and the rule set does not produce one, so the field is absent from the card rather than blank on it.
